That's really cute! I have a couple of pineapples too. I looked up the history of pineapples and hospitality a long time ago because some people think it comes from Hawaii. It's from colonial day's in the south.
Here is one similar to the pineapple wall hanging I made for a forum member that was moving into a new home. from hawaii Lorie 002.jpg
It looks like they start the same but the tops are different and my body has loose points on it for a 3-D look

Iris Girl, do you have that pattern or know where I can find it? I really like that one, too! I started collecting them many years ago. I read that it was a southern hospitality symbol and in touring some of the old plantations in the south they tell stories that if a house guest finds a pineapple on his pillow that means he has worn his welcome out! We can now use a pineapple pillow, hint hint! LOL

I had to laugh when I saw the wall hanging. I was expecting the traditional pineapple block. I think I'm going to make a traditional pineapple quilt with the fabric I dyed.
