    Question about pinwheels tutorial...

I would love to see a tutorial that uses the pinwheel technique with charms that you taught us. It seems like there are a lot of quilts that ask for those triangles...and that one can use them creatively...and I would love to hear some of your ideas on that...

I was thinking that I would use the technique for part of the quilt when I make the jitterbug pattern in Layer cakes, charm packs, and Jelly Rolls by the Linnets. Is that possible?
    Have a fabulous day!

Kate - are you looking for a tutorial on the easy pinwheels. (HERE) or are you looking for some ideas on how to use them? (Check out my "Blame it on Jenny" Album. 4 blocks very different all made with the pinwheel blocks.)

Actually, I was thinking more of the technque that Jenny showed - with the putting the two charms together and sewing all the way around, and then cutting them into 4 squares...Those examples are AWESOME! Thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for....although I would love to see a tutorial on how to use this technique to make one of those stars...

That is the technique I used to make all of those samples. (Isn't that what I linked to? Jenny's tutorial here before she did the Sympoz ones.) I sewed two charms together around and cut into four. A couple of them I needed to also make some squares but mostly just several of the half triangle blocks.

Leigh, love your "Blame it on Jenny" (haha) blocks. all so beautiful. Are you going to make a quilt with them?

I got a sewing machine for my husband. Good trade, huh!?!

Thank you Nancy. Yes I am planning on it. But I was winging it and the blocks are around 16". I guess I won't need many. Maybe a big square couch blanket.

Right now that project is on hold while I make my Wild Swap blocks. (Only 6 complete BUT half way done because all the component pieces are pieced.) I'm itching to make the middle-column second-down or the bottom-row second-in on my graph paper idea blocks.
