Hi! Does anyone know where we can see the finished quilt that is mentioned in the video? I was wondering how they finished the border of the quilt. I'm thinking about using this technique to make a baby quilt. Its mentioned that part of the strip was used for the border to make a more "scrappy-look.
I sure appreciate the video because I've taught myself to quilt. The videos have help me see other ideas and learn new techniques. Chris

I don't think they have one but you can see the finished quilt hanging in the background on one of the other videos

The tutorial only shows you the block construction, not the finished quilt and doesn't tell you a block layout or finish size, which is what Chris was after. Chris hasn't been the first to ask this question, at the end of the tute Natalie says something about getting back with the finished quilt but sadly it was missed in their busy lives. I understand from an earlier post that they no longer have the quilt so the photo in Natalie's album and in the background of other tutes is all we have.

Hi! And my quilt won't look like the tut quilt, I've used three print fabrics and white. I'm working on a charity quilt for a pregnancy center and thought this would be perfect way to learn a new block and use some of the fabrics I already had. I have feeling I may have several layout variations because of using the same prints.
This was an easy quilt to make and the blocks have turned out fairly large, maybe close to 15" after they're sewn together. If the different layouts turn out interesting, I'll post some pictures.
I was going to buy a large ruler like Natalie used in the tut but decided that I wouldn't get alot of use of it but found my fuzzy cut 8" ruler worked fine. It has the diagonal line across it that I could line up with the seams to make the 45dg cuts. Take care, Chris

Hi! I finally finished the quilt and its ready to be turned in to the guild. They will be giving the quilts to the pregnancy center in Apr. Have really enjoyed working on this quilt but I did have to make it smaller than the tutorial because the guild's size requirement 36x40. My quilt is close 36x38!

Hi! Everyone, I tried posting a picture here but for some reason it never was posted. If you'll check my photo album( the link below in my signature line) and click on Charity Sewing folder. There's a picture of the finished quilt.
I had to make it smaller than what the tutorial mentions because the quilt guild wanted to give the Pregnancy Center quilts that measures 36x40. This quilt 38"x38".
I think next time I might make the strips not as wide, I cut these the same as jelly rolls. For crib quilts, think narrower strips would be better and be able to use blocks like they should be. Otherwise, the quilt was alot of fun to work on and there's several different ways the blocks could have gone together. Hope everyone has had a great weekend, Chris

That is so pretty.
I agee about the size, though. i tried one using 2 1/2" scraps just to see how it was done. My blocks ended up huge. I only made 4 blocks but it still made a good sized baby quilt.

That turned out pretty Chris.
I also checked out your album - love, love that birdhouse table runner. I've only done less than a handful of applique projects and would like to put that on my Bucket List.
Your kitties are so cute and that puppy - to die for! Is he still that little? Can I borrow him for a day?

Hi! Trish, I think my husband would have something to say about "loaning" Roxie! She is getting bigger but still just about 2-1/2 lbs and not supposed to get over 5lbs, she weighed 1lb 4ou in the pictures. She was my Christmas present this year. She is a sweetheart and sure has bought some life back to this house, the cats and the other dog are founding out what its like to be on the other end of teasing finally. The only time the house is quiet is when Roxie has teased enough and taking a nap.
Thank you on the comments about the birdhouse runner. The birdhouse runner was part of a challenge two years ago on CyberQuilters Yahoo group and was alot of fun to work. I love runners baby quilts and wallhangings because I can handle small quilts in my sewing area . I'm not much on applique either but its fun to try something different. Take care, Chris
