Opinions on the Eversewn sparrow X

    Hello all,

I’m looking at a new machine, and was curious about this. Anybody online? Do you love it, hate it? I like the idea of being able to do sewing and embroidery on one machine, which is what is making me consider this one, however the embroidery is more a nice feature to have rather than a must. Also, it looks like it includes 120 stitches but I can’t find a chart/diagram showing what the stitches are; would anyone be able to post a copy?

I had never heard of this one so I went on a search. First and most important thing I noticed for an embroidery machine is how small it is. You will grow out of that size hoop on your 1st go out. Since I don't know anything else about this machine I'll let others chime in. But they will all mention hoop size.

I should mention that 80% of the embroidery I plan on doing is monograms, or other small personalization. I realize I could do that with a computerized machine that includes an alphabet, but wanted a bit more flexibility and the option to do some other things too. I have access to larger dedicated embroidery machines if the task really requires it.

I have sewn with the Eversewn machines. I really don't care for them. Some only like you to use the thread cutter otherwise you have to rethread the machine if you cut it with scissors. One of them that I used would have a pause between the time that you pressed on the foot petal and the time that it would start sewing - it was very frustrating as I am use to the moment you press on the foot petal, the machine starts sewing.

This is what I found about the Eversewn brand. "The "Swiss Engineer" for these machines is Philipp Ueltschi, he is fifth generation Bernina!
The EverSewn Sparrow 25 is a computer-controlled sewing machine that offers everything a creative sewer could need. "

I have my awesome 15 yr old Husqvarna/Viking Designer SE which was made in Sweden, unlike the other Husqvarna machines that I believe are made in China.
I have looked at this EverSewn machine.....and have been tempted for no other reason then my Husqvarna Designer SE is really heavy to cart to classes, etc.
So, I'd love a light weight machine that embroiders, to be sure! …...Ah, maybe someday!

Just remember, If you purchase a Embroidery/Sewing machine, purchase it from a Sewing Machine shop, so you get a few "Beginner" Classes.
I have always purchased machines from stores that offer you free classes and both shops I have purchased machines from have beginner classes you can take over & over again. That way, if you forget something that the Sewing Machine retailer, you can re-take the classes over and over.

I shop at a LQS where Elna machines were once sold. She lost her dealership with Elna because she didn’t sell enough machines. So she picked up EverSewn machines to sell. I asked her how she liked the machines, she told me she had to send back a good number of them because the tension control was defective. That would be a red flag to me that their quality control isn’t what it should be. So buyer beware.
