God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

I think it means the side of the triangle is 6" or that two of those triangles sewn together would make a 6" square? Maybe someone else will explain it better.

I like this one - I love anything with Kim Diehl fabrics!

Correct, two triangles sewn together make a 6" square. The ruler itself is 4.5" high. I measured mine to be sure!

The slotted ruler comes in two different sizes; one with even measurement and one with half inch measurements. When Jenny states 6 inches, she is referring to the maximum length of the bottom of the even measurement ruler.

I don't have one of those, could I use the 60 degree ruler instead?

It seems to me it would be a 45%, please correct me if I am wrong since I love this but don't have the perfect trimmers and don't plan to get them. I have block locks that I am perfectly happy with.

Monique, you need a ruler with 2- 45 deg. and 1-90 deg. angle. You may already have one like that...the Easy Angle is one.

You are right...you could use a square ruler with a 45 degree angle line. That's what Natalie used on the summer in the park quilt and it worked just fine.
