Looking for a 28mm olfa cutter

I have been able to find the "stick" type cutter in 28mm, but my sister loves the ergonomic shaped 28mm cutter. I have been unable to find one, so if anyone finds one someplace, could you pm me. Hers is still functional, but I don't know what she will do if she can't find a replacement. Just thought I'd ask here, because my forum friends are able to find most anything. Here is a site with the 45mm one, but they don't offer the 28mm.

Don't think I've ever seen the "ergo" cutter you linked, in a 28. What's ergo about it is the blade cover retractor. The 28 is too small to employ a release more complex than what the other small "sticks" use. I find the rounder grips, with nothing to get in the way, more comfy. I like the shape and feel of the fiskars a lot, but the squarer shaped Olfa handle... not so much.

You have to squeeze the black plastic part to open the blade. Without squeezing the black part the blade is protected and the chance that you get cut is pretty rare. There is a red button to lock the blade either open or closed. It is comfortable to use. That is exactly how my sister's 28mm cutter works.
Red Caboose (love your name) I'm going to look up those sites and let you know.

Red Caboose, Thank you so much for your time trying to help me. My sister tried the Martelli cutter at the quilt show, but felt it was too uncomfortable for her to use. She is left handed and it makes cutting hard. But the olfa can be fixed to work right or left handed. The other cutters are ones that I haven't seen, but they aren't available in 28mm. Thanks again for trying to help.

Caroline, Thanks so much that is the exact one she wants. Will have to ask my other sister how to bid on e-bay, I'm not familiar with it.

I'm in the UK so checked Amazon here - it was there (and nowhere else) but 'currently unavailable' so I wonder if that means they've discontinued the one you're looking for. I would grab the ebay one while you can. Good luck with the bidding.

I have another sister who loves shopping on e-bay and I called her. She was more than happy to help me out. She will bid on it and when she wins ( I hope I hope) she will get it and make our sister so happy. This sister knows nothing about quilting and thought the $10 bid was too much. I set her straight about that!!
sewUK I asked at the Olfa booth at the Chicago Quilt Show and he said they stopped making them, but had no idea why. That's why I want my sister to have a backup. Ya never know. Thanks for checking for me. Pat

Well, the bidding didn't go my way. I even called the e-bay queen this morning and told her to up the reserve bid, but my mistake was not telling her how much. She had it at $21 then only went up to $25.. I should have told her the very most I'd want to pay, didn't know that It sold for $29.51 or something like that. Oh well, I learned a lesson or two today.
Thanks for all who were trying to help me. I appreciate your time and efforts.
