  • Would there be interest?

While at breakfast with a friend today we were discussing quilting-of course. I/we thought of new swaps on the forum and came up with one I may be interested in hosting. If you may be interested in participating in a Farm Girl Vintage block swap, let me know. I was thinking of starting it in Feb. sometime and giving people until June or July to complete their blocks. We could choose one block from the book and make one for each member of the group. If we coordinate with one another we could all just make our favorite one or one we found we enjoyed making-I know there were a couple that I found difficult or trouble but others enjoyed making them.
    Thanks!!!!!

Beth, I don't own the book, so would I have to buy one?
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Sorry to say but yes, these have not been released as free patterns.

Trudi, I have the books but as tedious as some of the blocks are I don't think I would want to have to make multiples of any of them. It is a good idea but I don't think I would be interested.

This is a cute idea. I's sure you will get a lot of interest and Lori's quilts are awesome.

Sorry. I don't need another book.

              Re: Would there be interest?

I joined a block swap from another quilting forum.
The blocks I received were from cheap fabric, did not meet the
size requirement (too small) the block had not been squared.
I received 12 blocks was only able to use 2 blocks.
If you plan to do a more complicated block its unlikely you
will receive usable quilt blocks to complete a quilt.
Plus the type of quilt you are planning will need to
use the same type of fabric and color scheme.
My experience in a block swap was not a good one.
Therefore I don’t do them. Hopefully other quilters
              have had a better experience.

You can always send back that $100.00 book I sent you. Then you'd have room!!
