I live 50-60 miles from Hamilton and it

No big deal for me, I always order fabric

Thats because Fedex sends your orders and mine, all the way to Southhaven Mississippi, hangs on to it a day or 2, then drags it AALL the way back again.

I would actually be tempted by the $50 in town credit. My mom and I do a retreat yearly. Is that actually part of the beta test now or just a hypothetical?

there is literally an unlimited 2 day shipping, that 100% solves the time to get a package doesn't it?

Al, us financially challenged take a lot more than what you offer to part with what small amount we can spare. And paying MORE for the decent shipping we can get elsewhere really doesn't help much.

BillNye, here's my opinion as a consumer:

I will not under any circumstances pay for a "subscription service", Not Amazon Prime, Not Fruit of the Month Club, Not Dollar Razor Club for Women, Not a LA Fitness , and not even MSQ (even though I love your company).

I will not pay for a service or perk that I may or may not use, like, need, or want. If a Company wants my business, then they will provide their products or service for a reasonable, fair, and competitive price without me having to pay a "subscription fee" to get those prices. Personally I think MSQ already does that for the most part.

I am however a bit concerned that if MSQ does a subscription service for shipping, then those of us without the subscription are going to see the shipping prices increase drastically to help offset the cost of the shipping costs of those with the subscription. Just like Amazon did!

Here is another perspective just in case you think Amazon is so perfect. I am not a prime member just a regular customer. I ordered something last Monday from Amazon and it arrived today. That's 6 days. Now I know it was busy for them it was "Prime Week." Did they add more staff? No. My dd works for Amazon as a picker normally they all work four 10-hour days. During Prime Week everyone had to work 12 hour shifts. I asked her did they give you an extra break or something? Not really. They increased their normal 15 min break to 20 minutes.

Okay, call me slow but I never actually caught the fact this was standard shipping and 2 day shipping. I thought this was the “normal” FedEx smart post and FedEx Ground (since FedEx ground actually only takes 2 days for us once they admit they have it, which can take a day or 2). I'm guessing “standard” is ground, not smart post and 2 day is, well 2 day? If so that changes the math a bit in my head :-)

Pretty sure standard is the normal shipping that M* uses, which is Smartpost. The 2 day would be what ever it is when you pay the $2 extra on an order, probably still Fed Ex

Question about the Jenny on the Road ticket: how is "your area" going to be defined? Will it be by state or within a certain mile radius? I have a ticket to see Jenny on the Road in Michigan in August but live in Ohio, about 2.5 - 3 hours away. This is the closest she has been to my area so far.

Love the idea of electronic access to Block, I had to cancel my subscription because my mail carrier was either stealing them or delivering them to the wrong house.

I use M* quilting services about once a year. The discount would be an incentive for me. I regret I won't be signing up as a beta-tester -- recent Vet bills made too big of a dent in my wallet.

Before I'd spend any more time, and money trying to make a "subscription" appease the troops over shipping complaints, I'd fix the shipping problem first. If you don't the "subscribers" will still wonder... why'd I do this?

Just because "Prime" works, (or not) for Amazon is their typical user. This group of quilters have different needs and buying habits. And, you are not selling a commodity, which I estimate to be half of the sales shipped to Prime members.

You gotta fix that car before you can win any races.

Re: Beta testers needed for new MSQC Shipping program

Finally decided to read this thread to see what it was all about.

I stopped ordering from this great company a couple of years ago when my orders starting having tax added at our border. This isn't the company's fault and they have zero control over it, unless they broker the deal which cricut.com does.

At any rate, as a Canadian, I would have no interest in this because of the credit for machine quilting. I am a long arm quilter, so I wouldn't be doing that to begin with, but if I wasn't, I wouldn't want to know how much it would cost to ship a quilt to you and back to Canada. A few months back it cost me $18 to send a flat quilting pattern in an envelope with tracking to a lady in Michigan!

If you could rejig your beta program to perhaps not include the quilting credit, then it may prove popular. However, you are going to have to guarantee the shipping times as people won't stand for delayed shipping when they are paying good money for expedited shipping. Just my two cents.

I cannot believe you people are STILL gripping over shipping. I did a sample of other companies. I would think after comparing the others to MSQ you'd stop complaining.

So I signed up for this as soon as I saw it! I just discovered MSQC about a year ago and I get most of my fabric from there and all of the templates. I live in MO and the normal $5 shipping is a big savings over most any other online shopping company. And the orders ship out within a day and they get to me in a couple of days. I've not taken an online class but I will now, I think that's a wonderful perk, as well as the shopping credit at the store since I do plan on making a trip there. I just started sewing again a couple of years ago, so I am not a machine quilter and i have used their quilting services 4-5 times, so I will definitely use that credit as well. For me, this was a great subscription offer and I'm totally on board!
