Happy Mother's day to all from the cold, windy, and rainy Catskills.
Cascade QOV - sent out to be quilted at Fiddlehead Quiltworks. Cassandra did an amazing job. Pictures did not do this quilt justice. It looked better in person. It has been presented to my friend.....special forces combat veteran.
14 blocks - I was going to tie this quilt. Then I saw tutorials showing how to machine quilt with a walking foot on a normal machine. It worked well. It is all straight line quilting. It was gifted to my best friend's mother-in-law. She was thrilled to receive it. I am glad those blocks are part of a quilt that will be used.
The gingham quilt is almost ready to sew on the border. I can then return to the flip flop quilts for my daughters.

I have a new frugal tip.....I have a collection of the small spools of thread that come in cheap sewing kits. I cannot bring myself to throw them away. I have been making labels for my quilts. I decided to use the thread to hand embroider my labels. It doesn't take long and it is a personal touch. It always pleases me when I can use my stash.

    Measure twice, cut once......

Both quilts are reversible. Pictures of the 14 blocks quilt are before it was quilted.

Reversible!! How cool is that?!! But isn't that 2 times the work lol. I love them both. You did an awesome job. And great tip on using the sewing kit thread, I am borrowing that idea!

          Re: Updates......

I have only been making quilts for about 9 months. I tend to be very frugal. I made a mistake cutting the flag fabric on the Cascade quilt. Since it is the same fabric, I use the miss cut pieces on the back. I also tend to change my mind or get a better idea when making a quilt. I also forget to plan for backing fabric when I buy fabric......so reversible seems to have become my trademark.....lol!
