    Self Binding Baby Blanket

    Hello,

I have made several of these blankets by following the Missouri Star YouTube video and have been pleased with the results.

The pattern calls for a 30" square piece of material and a 40" square piece of material. My question is; will the mitred corners still work if I increase the size of both fabric squares equally, for example, to 32" and 42"?

Yes, they sure will. Just increase them evenly.

Thank you! I thought so but it is good to have it confirmed by someone with more sewing experience.

Yes....My first experience with this pattern was a disaster (but my fault cause I couldn't read the directions right) but I made a second one and decided to increase the dimensions. I increased each dimensions by equal amounts. Turned out beautifully. Good luck. This will be a go to for me.

I was wondering if you could use fleece for these - as I bought some by mistake-duh - meant to buy minky or cuddle cloth.

Also - in her new tutorial for these self binding blankets she uses a 30" square piece and a 36" square piece and she does it completely different. She did use the cuddle cloth - so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. Here is the link.
