    Today's Daily Deal Question ?

    Is today's DD a good bargain ?

    ************************************************** ***********
But I really am interested in scissors such as these below)
( Donna Jordan uses them in her tutorials )

I found this style scissors on Jo-Ann Fabrics site :
(these are also 1/4" smaller than the one MSQC is advertising
    http://www.joann.com/gingher-knife-e...prefv1=Product

Here's the something similar that MSQC has :
These are larger and there's also a neck strap included ! :

I would like to find scissors like these.....do any of you know if there's some store that has them even cheaper? (and you like the quality of the scissors)

Also, if you have purchased these scissors....would you let me know if you like or dislike them, and if you would purchase them again, and if not why ?

    ************************************************** *********************

BTW.....I also like the Daily Deal.....and I am wondering about purchasing those scissors as well?
( I think it might be a great gift for my niece who is learning to sew & quilt )

Well lol your dd is different then mine. I have the Teflon serrated scissors 8 1/2

I use the Havels Snip-eze and love it. keep it right by my machine. It's easier then a regular scissors for snipping.

      Well now you've done it!

I passed by them earlier but they are now on their way to me! I have other types of this brand and can always use a new pair something in my sewing room. Of course three yards of fabric jumped into the same cart today with them.

My smaller pair of scissors have a red ribbon on them so I can find them as they do get buried under stuff. But I wouldn't want something around my neck dangling. The knife-type are popular and look easy to use for most people but I've never tried them.

      Decisions! Decisions! Good luck!

Sugar, I don't know about the 8 1/2 inch scissors but the one with straps, I have a pair of cheap small scissors I put on a strap and put around my neck and found out they were putting little holes in my jeans, so I put the strap on my sewing machine electric cord and that way I always have them by sewing machine, and then got another pair of cheap ones and put it on a strap and hung it on my ironing board. I have seen a lot of people like the Kia scissors. I would like to get a pair of them sometime when they have their sale

I don't see a need for serrated scissors. I have several pair of various types of scissors already, which have different purposes. I keep a small one by my DSM for clipping threads, one on the ironing board, one by my LA. I have larger scissors for cutting batting, etc. I have no way of knowing if today's DD is a good one or not.

Re: Today's Daily Deal Question ?

I ordered a pair of the daily deal. I have a pair of hoof trimmers that are micro-serrated. They are excellent at cutting.
I think these will come in handy for the thicker fabrics I cut like denim and duck cloth. The little bit of tooth should help keep the fabric from sliding when I am cutting multiple layers.
I am making the assumption that they are micro-serrated and not the bigger toothed blades like a culinary knife! That would be awkward to cut with!

Re: Today's Daily Deal Question ?

The serrated edges are supposed to grip the fabric better and supposed to be good at cutting wool. That is what I heard from a rep.
