A lone star quilt for only 200.00

I came across this, cannot believe they are able to make lone star quilts for such little money. If someone you know wants a quilt for a more than reasonable price visit them on Facebook or their etsy shop.

5 people buying and making them in quantity likely helps a lot to keep the price down. Some pretty stuff there.

I was only able to see that they are full size. Would be interested to know the actual size?

The one I saw had very large quilt spacing. Nice design, but I hope they used good batting. You couldn't pay me $200 to make one. Aprox 14 yds for a full size means the fabric probably isn't quilt shop quality. Maybe they got a deal. If they paid $6yd, and $20 for batting, that's $104 for materials alone. If it took a week to make, that less than minimum wage.
Even if it was awesome, I wouldn't consider it without an actual size posted. I got burned on a necklace once. It turned out to be a bracelet. For a baby. Not even an adult sized bracelet, shown on what must have been a dolls neck with no mention of size.

60 sales and only 7 reviews? Seems fishy.

I live in an area where native Americans give these quilts as special gifts to honor someone. These quilts are generally made of polyester type fabrics, not quilt shop quality fabric. I didn't look closely at this link but I didn't see any mention of fabric content and the quilting looked pretty sparse.

The "About Us" section said that these are made by Native Americans, and that the Etsy shop was set up to give a job to people who'd never held a job before. So there's a noble purpose in buying one of these, even if we ourselves could make a higher quality version.

Doesn't seem like a big deal.

The star's piecing is easily done with strip sets.

What fabric was used? If it's from Joann's or another chain it should probably cost less!

The backing is plane white. Quilting fabric, or a sheet (LOL)?

The front white background fabric doesn't look pieced -- it looks like either:

                  1) large pieces of white fabric attached with a "y" seam in each of the star's inner points, or

                  2) appliquéd onto the white front? LOL

Someone may be getting ripped off if paying $200.

You made me look! Not much quilting going on and the fabric does look cheap. These are the quilt that make sales difficult. $200 seems to be the amount most people consider a lot for a quilt

Lot of quilt snobbery here. I often use white muslin for a quilt back, as do many others. And WHY does everyone fuss so about Y seams?
