Simple Toiletry bag pattern needed for Harvey flood victims

Anyone got a nice simple and straightforward pattern for a toiletry bag? One of my nieces teaches at a junior high in Texas and many of their students lost everything in the flood. Most did not have much to begin with. The teachers and their friends have been collecting basics for their schools including toiletry items and a friend and I were thinking of making some simple zip bags that they can put those items in. Needs to be pretty simple as we are going to try and make a lot of them or as many as we can. Also where to find bulk zippers? The zippers locally would cost too much for us to make very many.
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.

Try Wawak for cheap zippers, they are sometimes as low as $.17 each, depending on size. I!d just make a simple rectangular bag, maybe with drawstrings as opposed to zippers. My grandson made a very useful backpack in his 7th grade home arts class. It was really two rectangles sewn together. With drawstrings that formed the shoulder straps.

This one was a little fancier.

How big does the bag have to be?

Jenny did a zippered bag tutorial

This zippered bag by The Crafty Gemini is pretty simple too.

As for zippers you can see what Etsy has to offer.

My moms church group did toiletry kits for homeless teenagers and they used the drawstring bags similar to what Jean posted.

When you say toiletry bags what kind of things do you want in it?

This was on Riley Blake Design Facebook page - I haven't watched all of it but they were talking about a simple free pattern. "Looking for a way to get involved in the relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey? We love this idea Sweet Red Poppy and Made by Melli have for a bag filled with supplies. Take a look at their FREE DRAWSTRING BAG TUTORIAL to get you started!"

The teachers are making some basic hygiene kits with toothbrush toothpaste, hairbrush, wipes etc. In addition to them collecting school supplies to replace what they have lost. Its going to depend on what they are able to collect lots of stores did not survive the flooding or do not have employees right now to reopen.

My niece that works at the junior high said most of their kids did not have much to start with and the teachers have always kept supplies on hand to assist them that they are just doing it on a more massive scale. Her sister who lives a couple hours away plans to do most of the shopping for them or collection of goods then bring it to the school once the roads are passible.

They were going to put the kits in plastic bags I was just thinking it might be nice to have something a little more decorative to get it in. I will go check some of these out, trying to talk a few friends into helping my out.
