    I know I shouldn't judge

and I'm sorry if it comes off that way, but how can someone charge so much for this? I see so much great work here and this just sort of set me back.

Wow, 25 hours to make a quilt with 190 pieces. No points, no matching seams, no stress. And it comes packed in a box. OK, I'm not impressed, but if it sells, why do anything more?

        Re: I know I shouldn't judge

I just sold four king size quilts for $600.00 apiece. Think about how much material in the top, batting, backing plus quilting.
I am not going to give them away except for close family and friends.

I hand quilt mine, and charge about the same. I do sell several a year.

One thing, it is a listing in the UK. Their supplies cost at least double what we pay here in the States. That said, that is a lot for a lap quilt.

Shirley, your quilts are usually bed sized aren't they?

The listing says it's coming from Los Angeles Calif. I wish him good fortune.

Lori, I thought it says the quilts are made in his studio in California? He lists them on the UK site? How odd.

A lot of this I think is in the marketing. He's really pushing the limited edition, hours, homemade etc. I only took a quick look at the site but he's probably pushing an "artisan" feel to it all too. I gather too that he is targeting a certain client base too. Doesn't mean he'll get them but that appears to me what he is doing.

It also says machine stitched. I guess it's in the marketing. I wish I would of counted my embroidery stitches on my children's clothing. lol I'm over it, it just kind of made me say huh?

I don't see how that motto has anything to do with this. But I do support him if he can actually get it.

I say good for him! If quilters would just stop selling themselves short, we could ALL get what our work is actually worth.
