    Only three days here

What a great place to be!
    I learned a lot last days;
A tree skirt is not a skirt with a tree pattern.
A stripology ruler is very handy...I ordered one yesterday.
And I am not the only one making not perfect square blocks!

But I have a question, is there a list of abbreviations?
    What is HST, BOM, SITP?
    DH means Dear Husband?

    Thanks in advance!

There is a list of those abbreviations somewhere around here

    HST......half square triangles
    BOM.....block of the month
    DH......dear husband
    SITD.....stitch in the ditch

I'll stop there, because I know the list will pop up.

    Glad your having fun!

      Re: Only three days here

Welcome to this community! I live in Germany and had the same problem. I found an App that was very helpful it's called acronym finder. In the beginning I was very confused, my English is ok but not really good. I can remember staring at my iPad asking myself what the heck is a LQS, now I know it's a local quilt shop....after two years in this forum, I learned a lot acronyms.
Have fun in this community there are so many caring and wonderful people here!

We do tend to use a lot of abbreviations - here is a link to another thread that defines most of the abbreviations or funny sayings used here on the forum. http://forum.missouriquiltco.com/sho...light=acronyms

Here are a couple of fun acronyms for quilters!

          UFO - Unfinished Object
          PIG - Project in Grocerybag
CEO - Husband of a quilter because he gets to Carry Everything Out

My favorite abbreviation (most days!) is MM, which is my husband. Goes back to an aloha shirt I made him a few years back with monkeys all over it and we now, on the forum, call him Monkey Man, or MM.

Here in Australia MM means "mere male", an endearing term used when the male in your life does something a bit weird/cute/odd/unexpected.
