Block on the Month - 2017

Hi, I hope you all are enjoying your Holidays. Christmas is around the corner, and then comes the New Year!

I am looking for a BOM that is free, that will do about 10-11 maybe blocks, where I learn something or enhance what I all ready know, but still put together a nice sized quilt.

Can you all recommend a good place that will be doing a BOM?

I am aware of Pat Sloan on Facebook, but beyond that, I have googled and get a host of places that are not quite what I am looking for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Crafsty usually has a free one each year. I think I have three of them, which are still on their site.

Amy Gibson usually has a BOM every year. http://www.stitcherydickorydock.com/...ar-block-club/ This is for this year but she said she was planning on have one for next year too.

I agree with the Craftsy site.
My quilt club is doing the 2016 Craftsy BOM for next year.

If you like samplers, we just finished doing Eleanor Burns' "Underground Railroad" pattern as a BOM.

I had an email today from the lady that is doing the 365 block of the day quilt. Next year she has a block of the week planned, all variations on the Ohio Star pattern as well as her block of the day quilt running again.

I have signed up for Craftsy BOM classes in the past as well as Amy Gibsons this year. Of course I never finish them. BOM and other things like that tend to lose my interest over time. I guess I am more of the instant gratification type. I so want to do a Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt, but once again, I probably wouldn't finish, so have never started one.

The thing I didn't like about the Crafsty ones was they wouldn't let me jump forward or skip a block. I don't know if that was normal, but it bugged the heck out of me.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I truly appreciate the input.

I think I will google some sampler ideas instead of doing a BOM, that might be more what I am "looking for".

My quilting bee is always interested in doing a BOM. I created a Pinterest board of some that I found online. Some are still available, some will have a new BOM in 2017. Here's the link to the board: https://www.pinterest.com/ecbell/quilting-bom/
