I'd try to take the 5, 9 & 16 (if it were me.) The 5 & 9 should fit in the sewing machine case. The 16 in a suitcase or with your mat if you got the portfolio. At a minimum the 9 and 16 ... it would be easier to cut/square up smaller components with a smaller ruler.

Since you do not know what project you will work on then I would bring the largest ruler you currently own. It would be more versatile.

I have my things pretty well packed for by winter get away but was wondering what size sq. ruler to take for a general project. I don't have any in mind so am not sure what size I should be looking at. Actually there are 2 kits in Houston that I left after the Houston quilt shows.
So the size of the square rulers I have are: 5", 8 1/2, 9, and 16x16-or should I get a better size.
