Interesting how the very same pattern can have such a dramatic difference with fabric selection. It is the same pattern. But using the solid repeat every other row tricks the eye and sees the pattern completely different. Thanks for sharing this neat pattern.

IMO, they are not the same. In the one, the red square centers are prominent. In the Warm Wishes, the secondary pattern shows up depending on how you lay it out. I've made the Warm Wishes pattern before. It's basically a rail fence, but it's all in the lay-out.

Yes, it is a traditional pattern. Not to be negative, but I can't see paying for something this simple. It is simply squares and strips. One pattern appears to use all the same fabric for the squares, the other uses a bright fabric for half the squares and scrappy fabric for the rest. But, then, I'm not a pattern girl myself, but I have good friends that are.

The "Warm Wishes" quilt uses a wider strip in the middle of the striped section...the pattern says cut 1 -3" wide and 2 - 2" wide. The pic of the "Arbor" design looks like the strips are all the same width.

You are right, they are the same pattern. The only difference (other than fabric choices) is that the one pattern took the large sashing squares out to the edge of the quilt while the other did not.

    What's the difference?

I can't see the difference in these patterns other than fabric choices:

    http://www.ashevillequiltguild.org/A...or%20Linus.pdf

Can you? Let me know because I'm confused. Of course, it does not take much these days to confuse me.

I remember someone getting upset a while back because she thought of a new pattern and then realized someone else had already published a very similar pattern.
Working...
