    Battle of the Shipping All-Stars

Looking to start work on a winter quilt that I started collecting fabric for last winter. I had purchased 1 yard of this printimage.jpgto make this quilt. I must have been delusional that 1 yard would make what I wanted, so now I began to look for more of it. Of course, OOP! But I was able to find a coordinate and some blenders from Fabric.com. I had purchased some yummy flannel birch print from MSQC when I was there in August, but again not enough to make a bed quilt!

So, I ordered more birch flannel from M*, birds and blenders from fabric.com and another potential match from a little independent Etsy shop. Itching to get started, I eagerly awaited my orders to be shipped. I ordered on Monday, and miraculously, they ALL APPEARED ON MY DOORSTEP yesterday! Whooohoo! I am elated! So, each of these shops, biggest on precuts , even bigger and small all managed to cut and ship at the same speed! Something was going right to make this thing happen!

That's great Jean! The stars were aligned for you. I have an order coming from Craftsy that started out in Northern KY then went to Atlanta GA (probably down I75 within 60 miles of my house) so it can come back to Southern KY to me.

I'm laughing at the "delusional" comment. 1 yard? That is never enough for anything outside a table topper. Woman, what were you thinking?

That just showed that I was interested but thought I'd never get around to really making it! I got all but one of my blocks cut, going to make one block like this one. image.jpg

Anxious to see the finish. What is it about Cardinals that draw us all in?

I have seen precisely two cardinals in my entire life, both of them in Nebraska, both in the last five years. I was absolutely mesmerized by the glowing intensity of the red. All those picture books did NOT do justice to the incredible red of a cardinal. No wonder we're all drawn in!
Toni ... If I keep sewing long enough, will they make their own dinner?

They are especially vivid in winter in the snow! Of course, we in St. Louis love our RedBIRDS on a bat! Crazy Cardinal baseball fans here!
