    Finally....well almost!

After seeing wonderful pegboards on here, Pinterest, and all over the internet, hubby and I finally went to the hardware store yesterday and picked up what we needed. He has a tendency to get things for projects but never start them. I tried to make it as easy as possible so I picked out a small board, I think its only 2 ft by 4 ft. I told him it didn't need painted or framed, just put on the wall. He says he has wood strips to put behind it to have it away from the wall, but we got everything else we need. Now I hope when he wakes up this morning I can convince him to get started.

If he gets it done soon, I'll post pics. I hope I can watch and help so maybe if I like it as much as I think I will, I can get more pegboard and make a fancy one myself!

You will be happy to have those strips on the back of your peg board when you get ready to insert hooks - they will need clearance on the back as you push them in place.

When you get ready to do your own you can use hot glue to attach the clearance strips - as long as you aren't hanging a lot of weighty things on it.

We found (after DH put up my first peg board) that our local hardware store sold little spacers made to mount peg board, no wood strips needed and they are so easy to use. Found them in the isle right next to the peg hooks.

Its so easy I even made one to hang my pots and pans from. I did paint it to match the wall though.

I really love mine, but I moved my sewing space down stairs and have no wall space Maybe the hallway.

Think about a little shelf on top.

Lori, I love your board! The board on the top is a great idea. And no peg-board is complete without the chicken!

That collection is vintage toy banks from my aunt. The skier is from the Spokane Worlds fair '74. My mom, aunt and I were going camping and I found out about it. I said if we are driving that far up the Redwoods we should go. I was a teen and can't believed they listened to me. Great trip!

Well, hubby didn't get it put up this weekend. I think it might be a project I tackle myself. Sometimes if I start something, he thinks I'm not doing it right and jumps in to help, maybe that's what I should do!

I love the idea of a shelf above it. I'll show him the pic and see what he thinks.

Sandy, do I get a bald chicken to hang on my board too???? LOL

Lori - we'll have to see about that. We just need to talk.
