I used to work for a dyer and finished company. Coloured fabrics cost more to dye because if the extra chemicals needed to set the colour etc. However white fabric is cheaper as it only needs to be bleached. And natural colour is only washed (to get the starch used in weaving out) so is the cheapest of all to produce.
Just thought I would throw in this useless(!) information!!
