    Weightless Quilter

Just wondering if anyone has tried the Weightless Quilter, or seen it in action? I first seen it on Nancy's Notions site then found a few YouTube videos on it, but I can't seem to paste a link to the forum. I am new to this!
Patsy Thompson also has a quilting suspension system for free motion quilting.
I am sure interested in something like this as it is hard on the body moving that quilt thru your machine. If you have any info on either please let me know.
    Thanks and Happy Quilting
I might have pasted a link to the Nancy's Notion site??

The link doesn't work. I looked this up on line and it looks like a good idea, but it is expensive. One of our members, Katie of Katie's Quilting Corner bought the clips tha dog groomers use to hold leashes of dogs while they were being groomed. She clamped them to her sewing table and clipped the quilts to them. I think they were about $70 each, so it would be a little cheaper than the weightless quilter.

    Found these, defInitely cheaper!

IMHO the price for the Weightless Quilter is way to high.

Thanks for the link to the dog groomer posts. If I put a bungie cord on their I think I will be in business.

            Re: Weightless Quilter

I have tried this basic idea using bungee cords with alligator clips held up by a shelf above the back of my sewing table. Hard to describe but it amounted to the same basic engineering. I didn't like it, LOL. It did not seem to make my FMQ easier as i then had to undo and re-clip the quilt way too often.

I got a Babylock Jazz yesterday and while I was looking at reviews I saw this product. I ordered it through SewingMachinesPlus. It was a little pricey at $269 but if it works the way it says it will, it will be worth it for me. I can't wait for it to get it.

You can get the dog grooming poles to clamp on your table at Ryan's Pet Supply (in Phx - they ship) for under $20 each instead of $70.

                        Re: Weightless Quilter

Have seen the weightless quilter on Youtube. I have spent some time thinking of whether you could put some ceiling plant hooks into the ceiling with some type of lightweight rope attached to some type of clamp to hold the quilt.

As I said, I haven't thought through it completely -- probably because it is not yet a necessity for me, but certainly think I may try it in the future.
