    Fat 8ths

I thought I ordered fat quarters only to find out I had ordered fat 8ths instead. What do you do with a fat 8? Does anyone have a pattern????

This is a tutorial from FQS called Fat Eighth Frenzy. It's not the most spectacular quilt I've ever seen but I thought it was cute, fast and fun. Would make a great utility quilt. The PDF is also available on their website.

you can use the smaller half hexi template with fat eights. You can use any of the hexi patterns. you can also use the smaller tumbler and use it for any of the tumbler patterns. Hope that helps.

I did the same thing recently and ended up making a beautiful Bears Paw quilt top, each paw is from one fat eighth, but I did need to buy yardage for the background and sashings.

Here's a picture of the top in progress (before sewing blocks together) Hope to get it quilted this weekend

I just took a class from Nancy Mahoney on her pattern Dot to Dot and the pattern asked for fat 8ths. I just used scraps and some fat quarters. I didn't plan to like the class or make more than a table topper, since it was applique, but I REALLY liked her method and instead of the 1 table topper, it might actually morph into the full size quilt or to 2 table runners.... So happy I went to the class! She is a real sweetheart too!

I used Fat eights to make Lori Holt's Great Granny quilt.

This is a super simple and cute quilt pattern with enough scraps left over for another quilt.

I buy fat 8ths for making zippered bags.

Some of the Turning Twenty patterns are designed to use Fat 8ths.
