Shriner raffle update (almost $4K) and a week to go

So many of you have supported me this year for my long journey of raising money for the Shriner Children's Hospital. Some of you have donated quilts, others tops, other fabric. All has been put to good use.

We counted the money last night that has been collected on our end at the restaurant and we have $3849. The Shriners have tickets that they have been selling, and we don't know what they have collected and won't know until next Saturday but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

There have been a total of 40 quilts made for this event...15 have been sold...20 will be raffled and the rest will be in the auction. Our goal is getting closer and at this moment, I'm feeling pretty happy about our efforts.

Thank all of you again for the terrific support, both in material and moral. I could not have sustained this pace without you all and your kind words.

What a wonderful job you did on this. I was too late to help out this year, but if you do it again I would love to help.

Oh what a wonderful thing it would be to have you help. When I tell people about our forum and all the quilts that have been sent, they are awed. I show them the quilt from Shirley and Karen and tell them about the team effort and the ooh and ahh, I tell them about Carol and her health problems and still she continues to donate to all the causes, I tell them about gramma babs and her friend Joann and how dedicated they are, Seaturtle and her beautiful masterpiece she sent, Karen and Pat with their fabulous tops, Sharon and her surprises that she sent regularly and May in Jersey was the big hit just the other day with her train panel. There are so many of you to thank and I want you all to know that I weave a pretty good story around you when I'm selling those tickets. The quilts that I have sold, I'm certain that you girls would be proud to know that those baby quilts are getting $100 or $50 if they will leave the quilt and donate it to the hospital, the big quilts that we have sold are $300 and require spending another $40 to purchase tickets with the word donate on them. That quilt I bought at the goodwill for $8 that was all hand stitched brought$350 plus some tickets so you all know who you are. We still have Thursday and Friday at the restaurant and Saturday we will plug away at the event. Keep your fingers crossed.
