45mm or 60mm rotary cutter

I have 3 45mm rotary cutters and was going to purchase a new one. Anyone prefer the 60mm and why. Also are any of them easier on the wrists when cutting a lot, Thanks

I have all 4 sizes [18,28,45,60]. I use the 60 for yardage and strips, and the 45 for squaring up HST's. The little ones get around shapely templates, or in the slotted ones. Not sure if the size makes a difference to my wrists, but I use a rotating cutting board, which helps.

I love my 60 mm rotary cutter. It makes cutting a lot easier especially for strips.

I'm wondering if you already have three of the same size why wouldn't you try a different size. I think I have three 45's too. lol

I learned cutting with a 60 mm, so I tend to use that the most. But Preeti gifted me with a Martelli left handed 45 mm, and I really, really like the ergonomics of that one.

The 60 mm is great for cutting through multiple layers - it is a given that you have to have a sharp blade, though. The most I have cut through was 6 layers, but it did a great job with that.

I have Martelle's 45 mm rotary cutter which is very easy on the wrists. Actually got it off of Joann's website with a coupon. They come in 60mm also. I thought it would be awkward at first but not at all! I prefer it and don't really use my other cutter at all. I don't have a 60mm so when I decide to get one....it will be Martelli. Also, if you watch their site, they have great sales on their titanium multi pack blades which are extremely sharp and last a long time.

I love my 60 because it cuts threw lots of layers, but then so does my 45. I don't go smaller that that.

I use a 45mm for almost all cutting but I have a 60mm for when I want to cut multiple layers of 5 or 6. Anything smaller than 45mm I use for cutting curves and circles.

thanks everybody for the input. I ended up with 3 45mm one is mine, one is grd dtr, and I don't know where the other came from. I do have the circle cutter by olfa with the tiny blade, excellent for cutting circles.

I like the 60 for trimming/squaring up the quilt, especially if I used a thick batting.

I can never remember metrics! But my favorite one the blade is the size of a quarter.

I got the 60 first and so that's what I learned on and it is my go to cutter. Cuts lots of layers too. However, I saw the pinking blades and got a 45 to use with those. They are fun. I wanted to make my own cute little charms. I got some straight blades for it but haven't tried them . I don't like changing the blades. Scary. Anyway, it seems (the 45) lighter and migh t be easier on the wrist

I got the Martelli 60 because I thought it would cut faster. I love it and haven't even tried the 45's. I use it to cut everything

I have two sizes-45 and 60- but I use the 60mm most. It seems to be easier on my hand/wrist the the smaller blade

The 60 cuts faster. I bought one this year after hearing Leah Day say that the 60 is better. Love it.
