Re: How to fold a quilt

I saw something like this too and tried it for all my stored quilts. It took some getting used to, but after 3 or 4 quilts I got the hang of it. I did have to change the folds some to make the entire quilt fit onto my shelf. If it helps to prevent creases, I'll keep doing it.

Okay, the quilt is still folded, just differently. How does it stop creases? Does having the folds on the bias really help with creases and wrinkles? I'm happy to give it a try, just curious...

I had never heard of this either. Does it work? Why?

I can see that it would prevent creases after that first fold because it's bulky. But that first fold will still leave a crease wouldn't it?

It is putting the material on a bias and is suppose help not breaking the fibers as mich , is what I have been told.

It appears that all the folds (or at least most of them) would be on the bias, so perhaps there's less strain on the fabric and as a result fewer creases.

pretty interesting. However, I'm thinking we should just put them on the bed and use them. Not to worry about wrinkles. lol
