I started looking for a new sewing machine, but I realized that I might have to trade in Kenny the Kenmore! I'm not sure I can do that. When I was talking to the saleslady she wrote the price and "trade included!" Oh dear!

Re: Looking at new sewing machines
Agreeing. Keep Kenny as you might need a back up. I kept my Kenmore and just purchased a new machine. The Kenmore came in handy when the new machine was in the shop for her yearly spa treatment. I was still able to sew which was nice because depending upon the time of year, it could be two weeks or more to get back the new machine.

Re: Looking at new sewing machines
Was that quote at Quality? I have never traded a machine in and always got the price as if I did. Tell them you have no trade and that you expect them to act as if you do. If you wait till fair time, which starts September 2, they have better deals.pat.

Re: Looking at new sewing machines
I was looking at the Brother VQ2400, it was a bit out of my price range but the NQ1300 wasn't! Also Pfaff Exp 4.2 and Pfaff 5.0. Of course I like the Brother VQ2400! Still looking, I haven't looked at Baby Lock or Bernina yet.
We are trying to down size by selling our house. I figure I'm giving up my big house, I should get a big machine! ;-) I can't buy anything until the house sells! No buyers yet, so I will just keep looking!Carrie
I cut it twice and it was still too short!

Re: Looking at new sewing machines
There is a shop down in Renton that specializes in Berninas. I got my Juki TL2010 from Quality, and also my Babylock Espire and Audrey. I have never had to trade in a machine.
Also, in October, the Rusty Barn show will be at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. It is like a mini sew expo. It might be in November, I can't really remember right now. You can usually get good deals then too. Then of course, Sew Expo is in the spring.pat.

(...or, I am better when using it... either way
