    FMQ practise

    Hi

After the major boo boo with my sisters quilt, which I now have fixed.

I decided to take time for some fmq practise.

    Here is to nights resultate.

    I am pretty pleased.

It is rough and certainly not perfect. But hey, it is a practise piece.

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

I need to make some practice pieces and give this FMQ thing a try. I'm such a chicken though. I have been doodling a lot on paper for practice.

        Your work looks great!

It looks great Annika! I have found it's easier to FMQ on a solid. Sometimes on a busy fabric I can get lost. But practicing really does help!

You are doing really well. I have been picking up quilt raffle quilts all day and some of them were practice FMQ for me. I am amazed at my progress. You are already there with your practice.

                  thank you all.

It is fun to do fmq practice pieces because it does not matter if it turn out good or bad. It I practice
And it is fun to go back and look on older practice pieces and se how you have improved.

It is very helpful to sketch the motif you want to practice with paper and pen first.
Just to get the muscle memory in play.
