    laptop sleeve

Has anyone made a laptop bag or sleeve that they really like and have been using? My nephew just asked me to make him one and I've seen a few patterns I like. But I'd also like to hear when someone has made one and is enjoying their creation.

My daughter made a really fun monster one. I'll ask her for a picture. How old is your nephew?

I made the Dorian Messenger bags for my GD's, one with fleece inners and one with foam. They both have Mac air laptops which measure about 12 1/2" wide, so this pattern would have to be modified for larger laptops. I made cross-body straps for them too. Fairly easy sew and the girls love them

Those are really nice. Do they have room for the cords?? I'll be looking up the pattern later tonight. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, plenty of room for the cords. When you lift the flatp, there is a divided pocket on the front and two slip pockets on the inside. I think the pattern is from Swoon, but I'll have to go and look in my patterns.

Here's a freebie for a sleeve from Swoon. Free download from Craftsy. When I have time, I want to make this for my Chromebook.

Heh, that's what I'm making the sleeve for. His Chromebook. I'll have a look at the Caftay pattern. Then off to find fabric wth turtles.

If you're making just the sleeve, I don't think there's anywhere for the cords, but I'll check the pattern. My chromebook battery goes for 10 hrs. so he may not need a place for cords. If you decide to make the Dorian messenger bag, you can eliminate the middle seam on the inside slip pocket and just leave it open to slip in the chromebook. Then there's still room for some books and cords.
