    First when using strips???

I am starting on Have a Heart by J. Michelle Watts. 3 Jelly Rolls (or fabric cut for number of strips)

Fabric or jelly rolls always have a fold and all have selvages. So--
press fold out then cut the selvages or cut prior to pressing.

I have all of the strips prepared to begin but, my plans are to make this quilt 2 more times

    Thanks for your thoughts

I cut the ends off and then start sewing. I don't think I ever pressed out that fold before I start sewing. Just my way of doing it.

I'm working on Summer in the Park which uses strips - I don't cut or press first - just sew my strips together as it. Seems to be working great.

I just sew. I almost never do most steps than necessary. I have been pressing bags of someone elses left over scraps and I wouldn't do that except they are all wadded up and I had no idea what size the pieces were.
