    Welcome to the forum!
Thanks to all for the warm welcome to the forums. I can see this is gonna be a fun group already.

Rust?!? Really? I have lived in some damp, rust inducing locations, and i have never had mine rust on me. Yet i attribute this occurrence from growing up with an engineer father who's personal mantra was "Take care of your tools and they will take care of you..." He would wipe down everything metal with a thin layer of some oil before storing them away. So naturally, if i used his "stuff" i had to preform the same practice. Thus i store my blades (both used and unused) with a drop or two of machine oil in those nifty blade containers. when i get them out i just use a bit of scrap to wipe it off... carefully.

    I don't have a sharpener so I can't advise how good/bad they may be.
I looked into that before, so I think I will order some.

This has been asked a few times over the past year or so.

I recall the vote on blade sharpeners is about 50/50 -- some find it useful, others do not believe the blades are as sharp as new ones and some have commented that sharpened blades have tics & dips in them that tear up the fabric.

As for me -- I just buy new blades when they are 50 - 60% off at JoAnn's; I have also purchased some off brand ones from China (via Amazon) that fit in Fiskars & Olfa cutters. Personally, I have found that the brand ones from JoAnn's last longer!

    Good luck.

    personal Rotary cutter sharpeners ...

Ladies and Gents (because i know your out there too)

i have been trying to figure out if getting a personal rotary blade sharpener is really worth it and if so which one. I come to you in hopes to have insight that is based in experience on which products rocks / stinks and why. I HATE wasting money and i do not really trust company 'testimonials' on product sites, and most product reviews are MEH at best. Any insight to this would be most appreciated. thank you. : )
