Fabric help

I wasn't to make a red table runner. I need the fabric to be nice and not wrinkly. I want to embroidery. Can anyone suggest which fabric to use. I don't have a store so I will probably have to order, I won't be able to touch it

That's a tough one Connie Jo. You could use a polyester/cotton blend - but I'm not sure how easily a needle would go through the fabric for embroidery (I assume you are doing hand embroidery). 100% cotton would wrinkle after washing - although you could hand wash and then iron it. Good luck - hopefully someone else will have some great ideas.

If you are making it with batting, and you don't want it to be wrinkly after washing, due to the batting shrinking, then I have read that some people pre-shrink the batting by dampening it and drying in the dryer, before using it in the piece. Is this what you mean?
And I suppose polyester batting doesn't shrink.

Im going to machine embroidery. So, it will have stabilizer behind the design. Is there a nice cotton that would work

All cotton wrinkles unless there is some I don't know about. Do you belong to the embroidery group? You might ask over there.

Connie, I think any good quality cotton will work if you use enough stabilizer. I would however prewash it, starch it well...and use a medium to heavy cutaway stabilizer. IMO
