A question for all you very experienced quilters. I always use cotton for machine and hand sewing. Is polyester better?

I like that thread box. I wish they would sell the box separately without having to buy 36 spools of thread to get it.

I only use 100% cotton 50 weight for machine piecing. I have only used Aurifil before, but ordered this to try.

As thread goes, it's a good DD. I seldom use black, & white only occas. I also use 100% cotton 50 wt. thread for piecing. I use a neutral color called "Eggshell." If I'm piecing darker fabrics, I use a gray thread. I buy it on a large cone which I use on a separate stand. I can't imagine what I would do with 36 colors of thread! I use colored 40 wt. threads when quilting, but seldom need colors for piecing or other sewing. It probably would be great for garments. I wonder if they plan to offer those thread sample cards like you can get for King Tut quilting threads? Anyway, I wish M* well with the roll-out of the new threads. They just keep branching out & offering more items. More power to them!

I was not able to find the container listed by itself, just with the 36 spools of thread. If you want the thread, the deal is not too bad. 36 x 2.50 is $90 so that makes the container $9.95. I just don't need/want 36 spools of thread.

I just checked when I was typing this and the container is sold out now!
