Request for Methods Used to Oragnize and Store Fat Quarters

What is your best method for organizing and storing fat quarters. I think I have the organizing (color, theme, etc,) part figured out, but I'd like to get ideas for storage. I have a lot of miscellaneous fat quarters as I am sure you all do and I tend to overlook them if they are not in a bundle by the same brand/designer.

I just sort by color and store in a clear Rubbermaid tub(s).

I have two 3 drawer rolling carts like this:

If I have a fat quarter bundle from the same designer/line, or even individual ones that I plan a project around, I keep them tied together with a ribbon and stored in one drawer, so that they are all there when I'm ready to start the project I bought the collection for. Any of those FQs left over from the bundle after the project is completed get stored into one of the other drawers.

All FQs are pressed, and then refolded to fit in the drawer (on edge) in a manner that I can see every one of the fabrics without digging (if that makes sense).

One drawer for solids only - sorted by color
One drawer for fabrics with no more than two colors (like chevrons, polka dots)
Other drawers are for prints, sorted by the dominate color within the print.

Dollar Tree plastic shoe boxes - sorted by color and folded to fit - I can see through them and pick the exact piece I need. Stacked on a plastic shelving unit from Lowes!

did anyone else read the caption the way I did? On the new post sight they left off the word quarters so it ended up being "Request for methods used to organize and store fat" I definitely need help with that! I know I'm perfect the way God made me but I sometimes wonder if I wasn't supposed to be 7 ft tall.

I don't have as many FQ's as I used to... The ones I do have are in plastic "wicker" baskets.... Ones that are alike in some way, are grouped together....

I do have a large collection of black/white & some red FQ's, and they are in a basket of their own....as are all my Civil War ones...

I use lots of other precuts now, so have not bought as many FQ's as I did before I discovered our Jenny... I think I would like to add to what I have, fat quarters are so useful...

I use the Sterilite 28 Quart Clear Containers that measure 23" x 16 1/4" x 6". I can fit these two wide on metal shelving that I have.

I use the clear shoebox method Sandy uses. Fold your FQs to fit and organize them by color.

I have an antique card catolog drawer system crammed full, then the rest are in plastic shoe boxes.....the larger size.

I also have my FQs stored in plastic 3-drawer units. I know I paid <than $20. for each one. I think I got them at Target. I do not have the FQs sorted by color or design. I press them when I buy them. Folded in 4ths, they fit perfectly in the drawers. It's easy enough to open a drawer & look through the various fabrics.Sewing Room &amp; new Tiara II - Sept. 2015 002.jpg The 3-drawer units have plastic shoe boxes stacked on the top, so it looks like more. I found the best way to keep my fat quarters . I have a plastic container that is 41 qts (34 inches long by 16 1/2 wide and 5 1/2 height). It is used to store under a bed but I just stack them on top of each other. They all have lids to go with them. I fold my fat quarters like they come in the store. I can get 60 in a row and get 5 rows per container. So you can store at least 300 ft quarters in one bin. I arrange my rows by colors so that they are easy to see. Some are all children's prints, batiks, marbles whatever you want. Right now I have 5 bins full. When you take off the lid you can see all your colors perfectly. I hope this helps
