    Singer S16 bobbins?

I'm having a lot of difficulty finding Size L metal bobbins to fit my Singer S16. They do not have them on the Singer site and there are a lot of negative reviews on Amazon. Wondering, for those of you that have the Singer S16 (or its twin, Janome 1600), can you tell me where you get your bobbins that work well with your machine? I have a local Janome dealer near me but haven't tried them yet. Figured they would cost a whole lot more, but maybe they would be worth it. Thx

I get mine from wawak.com you need to look at all the bobbins and choose the right one. it is not listed in the machines

Thank you Dolores for that information! You have a S16 too? I wonder why they are so hard to find. I would've never known about these if you hadn't told me, since the machine isn't listed! And, so surprising they are not on the Singer site. I'll order some of these today as only a few came with my new machine.

Sewing machines plus and Sewing Machine Parts also carry them. They are the same bobbins that all the straight stitch machines use, Janome 1600, Juki, Pfaff GrandQuilter, and many others. Buy a bunch!

I bought the L type bobbins sold by sewingpartsonline.com and they are fine. This site tells you exactly which make and model machine their feet and bobbins will fit, as does sewingmachinesplus.com.

I tried to buy the L bobbins off Amazon for my Brother PQ1500 and had to return them twice. They were the right size but the "divot" that clicks it into the winder didn't extend from the flat part to the center core, so it wouldn't fit on there. If your machine needs that divot to be correct, then stay away from the Amazon ones. If your machine doesn't need that or if you have an off-machine winder that doesn't require it, they seemed perfectly fine otherwise.

I'm not even sure the divot/core description makes sense but I ended up spending more to get the right ones from Sewing Parts Online. I stocked up and probably have enough to last through a nuclear winter now, but I can wind 10 or 15 of a few colors at a time and work from the stash for a while.

Squeaky, thanks for providing the details on why to avoid those amazon bobbins. My Juki TL 2010 does have the pin protruding from the bobbin winder spindle that holds the bobbins as they are wound. I have had no issues with the 10 pack I bought from sewingpartsonline.com. I got the generic ones as opposed to the genuine parts or the aluminum ones they also sell. The generic ones cost me $5.99 a ten pack. I have not had a problem with them and would purchase more to have extra colors prewound and at hand if I need another part from them. Not sure what I paid for shipping. I bought a couple feet at the same time, so the weight they calculated was for several items.

                    Hi ladies,

I thought I'd share my experience as well. I found some on ebay, they arrived today and they don't have the hole in them to put your thread in. They were nice enough to refund me the full amount and told me not to bother sending them back. DH makes artsy things out of metal, so he'll be happy. I should have listened to Jean in the first place instead of trying to save a buck. I couldn't pass the deal up tho, 50 for $14.99 and free shipping.
