Backing color suggestions please

Since I am fairly new to quilting, I am color challenged when trying to pick backing for my quilts. Sometimes it is easy, but this time I'm not real sure. I am making this using the Falling Charms pattern & Carnival Charm pack by Island Batiks and a black jelly roll. My husband says to use solid black on the back, but I'm not too sure. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

if your trying to shadow the black won`t show your shadow
how about a lite grey

You have plenty of black in the quilt top. You could use black for the quilt back, but or should I say BUT black tends to pick up any loose lint you might have in your house and you would constantly be picking stuff off your quilt. I love the bright colors of your squares and I would probably got foe some multi-colored, print that would draw all of those colors out for a fabulous surprise when you looked at the back of the quilt.

You could use any color you want or even a printed fabric. Skip the black for the back. How about the yellow or the orange? You could bind the edges with the same color.

I second Karen's suggestion of finding a multi-colored fabric for the backing. It could be black with swirls of all the other colors.

I agree, multi-colored / patterned backing - I'm thinking some kind of scribbles/swirls/confetti effect to contrast with the straight lines on the front. And the same fabric as binding could pull everything together. For sure, a solid black backing would be very unforgiving in a household with lint, pets etc....

I agree, pick out one of the bright colors and use the same
as a binding.

If your keeping it pick your favorite color. If giving it away use theirs.

I'd look for a print that included some of the colors on the top... I think that would tie it all together..

I generally try to go with a print for my back. I have found that a solid color is not very forgiving with my beginning quilting skills but on a print any "oops" are much less noticeable.

I would use any bright color for backing. You could really go wild with it. I think a black backing would be a little too much black.

How about black with white polka dots? Would be a nice surprising contrast for all the bright colors.
