As to the loft, if it were poly, I would say ok. 100% cotton seems a little heavy for a book. Make a little swatch with the panel fabric to see how it looks and feels to you.

Re: Questions about making a baby fabric panel book
I have made several of the books for my grandbabies and I used scraps left over from quilts. I didn't prewash the fabric. I would use a color grabber if I did prewash. I also smiled when I read the topic in the list as " Questions about making a baby".

Re: Questions about making a baby fabric panel book
I have made several of these and would recommend getting a thinner batting. Once you try to join all the pages it will be pretty thick.

Questions about making a baby fabric panel book
Just got some adorable panels to make a baby story book. Do you think I should prewash the fabric panel? Also, the batting I have is high loft 100% cotton. Is that too heavy or is it okay for batting between the pages? I have never made on of these before. Thanks for any advice!Tags: None
