You bet me to it to day!

Have a nice day, I am of to watch!

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

I just love her... She entertains me to no end. I can watch her videos all day.
I love the "Cheats" she confessed to in this one. Sewing one end of the strip and then the other...
I do that. LOL. Many of the shortcuts she comes up with make me laugh... cause I use them too.

This is nice... I bought that Jelly Roll when it was the DD last week, so I am ready to go! Thanks for the link!

            Re: New Tutorial

I have a JR that I like for this pattern, but I might add 1 1/2" sashing between the vertical rows. I'm not 100% crazy about the way they meet up without sashing.

e: Or not. I'm looking at half the quilt over Jenny's shoulder, and not seeing the whole pattern that way. If I added sashing, it would screw up the secondary blocks.

Finally found a pattern for my one treasured jellyroll. Forgot the link-
can anyone tell me how much yardage I would need for the background if
                I cut my own? Thanks!

                  Re: New Tutorial

I made log cabin blocks several yrs. ago. (In my Freedom Star quilt, mixed with star blocks.) However, I cut all my strips ahead of time & had them laid out in the order of assembly. I think it was easier & the blocks were very accurate & square. I probably would use the same technique if I do this tutorial.

There are 2 3/4 yds in the white jelly roll, then another 3/4 yd called for in the pattern for the inner border.

I would buy 3.75 yards to have a little bit extra.

I thought of using Christmas fabric, too. I have some that I really need to decide what pattern to use and get crackin' . I might just have to put something aside and start something new.

Shoot, I'd buy 4 yards. Who can't use extra white (or other solid BG) in their stash? Also, I'm still not sure if the video took into account the fact that there are 2 white inner borders cut at 1.5 around that pieced one. That alone makes me want to have extra on hand.

She said a "Jelly Roll" of the white strips.
