Dolly Donations - 2 are done!

I posted about Dolly Donations and I thought I show a couple that I've finished. I'm making dolls to send to Uganda with my church's mission group.

I decided to go ahead and try my hand at painting the faces. There was a great tutorial on the Dolly Donation website on how to paint faces. Since the face fabric is dark, the fabric pens that I have didn't work. I also tried the light box idea, but I couldn't make that work, either. I was spending a lot of time on other solutions, so I decided to try to paint the faces on scrap fabric. I think they turned out pretty good.

You did a great job on the faces! I've wanted to make some of these for Operation Christian Child boxes but the painting has always scared me off!

I saw a couple options for faces, but I liked the painted face. The person on the tutorial made it look easy so I tried it and was very surprised. Thanks for the comments!

You did a great job on the faces - they are so cute. My church does an annual trip to Haiti. Thanks for the idea!
