I might want to use velcro, too. Still thinking about it.

If you are just wanting to put a colored panel on the front, where there is off white canvas, I would just use spray glue. You could glue on some trim to hide the raw edges, if you wanted to.

I'd make a practice one from muslin to see how it works.

? about changing the front of a fabric bin

    Hi everybody,
I'd like to take some fabric bins/totes like the Closet Maid ones or the Martha Stewart ones sold at Home Depot and modify them somewhat. I can't find a color that would work in my sewing space. I'd like to make a front from some attractive fabric and somehow affix or sew them to the front part that is facing out. Do you think I should try to just sew around the edges of the box or use some type of glue too? I am planning to use a stiff interfacing to make the front part.
These will slide into two of those open cubbie units. I have some lodge-y fabric that I think would look perfect. At first I was thinking of making some from scratch but that seems like an awful lot of work and I'd rather spend the time on some other project.
I hope I am not being as clear as mud here.
Any thoughts? Has anyone tried this?
    Thanks!
