    about precut hexies...

I just saw many very nice fabrics precuts for 6inch Hexies.
Do you make your own piecing templates?
I did not see any paper ones on M* except for a mini one that looks like a key chain ornement......
    thank you.

Hexie so aren't my thing but I think most quilters would use their sewing machine for these.

thanks, I will look for a tutorial, I was under the impression that all hexiess had to be folded around some paper template first.....

Valori Wells has a cute pattern using large scale hexies. They are joined in rows with 60 degree triangles surrounding the hexagons. It is a great easy pattern

And here is a link to a class for the Rosalie quilt pattern. The pictures give an idea of how the quilt is constucted.

Here's a quick video by Eleanor Burns using hexies and triangles. She uses a template to make hers. You'd need to figure out the size of 60 degree triangle to go with the size of precut hexie being used.

If you are good with the 1/4 inch seam, you can do it without papers. I have done several times.

                    Re: about precut hexies...

I'm just learning hexies so I cheated and bought 2 die cuts for my Big Kick. I cut out my papers with them then cut squares of fabric the old fashioned way - with a rotary cutter.
