Don't know if Grandma Louisa sewed at all as she passed away when I was about 2. Can't forget my other Grandmother who passed away shortly before my parents married as she did sew as she worked in the garment trade sweat shops in New York. So my other QS name could be Mamie's Threads.
I just picked up a pincushion I haven't quite finished making, just to get it out of the way, and yup a needle was sticking right out of the half closed seam and into my thumb!
I'd go shopping at Bessie Stripology! Haha nothing is less fun than a stuffy quilt shop. I do always wish Eleanor Burns owned that ruler name, would've been hysterically funny.
Right. Mine would be Ethel's Pins & Needles or Albina's Scissors. I dearly loved both of my grandmothers but I don't see either of those as a good name for a quilt shop. Both of them made quilts but as they had large families and limited funds their quilts were utility quilts to keep the family warm made quickly with what was on hand.
So true. I guess when I get to be a grandma, my grandkids will think my name is old? awww. I hope not. Seems now a days everyone names their kids the same name. I'm working at my church's Vacation Bible School this week and there are so many duplicate names it makes it hard to identify a kid.
