How to Name your Quilt Shop

    1. Your Grandmother's first name (so you have a choice here)

    +

    2. The last sewing notion or tool that you touched.

So mine would be Lucia's Seam Ripper. or Sylvia's Seam Ripper. The latter sounds good.

                        Laura's Tape Measure!

My Grandma Laura made quilts, I have 2 that she made that my aunt ( her youngest child and only daughter) had stashed in her closet and they were found several years ago by my cousin when she cleaned out her mother's house after my aunt died at age 93. Grandma Laura died in 1948, so we have no oral history of her quilt making experiences. Needless to say, she didn't teach me to quilt as I was only 4 when she passed away!

Edna's Needle and Thread or Frankie's Needle and Thread. (I am binding a quilt). Both of my grandmothers were quilters but I wasn't interested much when they were still alive. The things I could have learned from them. I still have quilts that Grandma Edna made but not sure where the ones that grandma Frankie had ever went to. I was a young child when she passed away.
