    Doesn't it drive you potty?

Having just finished a prototype bag for the quilting group ladies to carry their 18 x 24 mats in. I decided to have a bit of a sort out.

I found a block I had used for the first ' meet the groups' at U3A when I was setting up the group. I was one of those blocks where you sew a block and then cut it up and re-sew it. I really like the block, would like to make some more but I simple cannot remember what the initial block was. I have found some 'bits' that were cut up, I have tried to arrange the bits like the block....forget it I just cannot make them fit into any sort of block...aarrgghhhhh........

Whats this block 001.jpgWhats this block 002.jpg

Does anyone recognise this and can you tell me what the block started out as. I have tried looking on the internet but all I can find is disappearing four and nine patches, its not one of those.

I was thinking about your thread title. Here we might say 'does it drive you batty' (crazy) . Another one to add to that list of sayings from different countries!

Oh for goodness sake! I've never seen anything like this. So you make an hourglass block then cut it up and rearrange the pieces into another block??

lol I like the hour glass, so I won't be doing it. I think the D9P is as far as I will go.

Haha! I laughed out loud when I read the title, too, and again when I read your comment. When my son was potty-training, he'd announce whereEVER we were, "Oh, I need go polly!" (My fault...too many Potty-parties made it a BIG deal!). Anyway, when he'd hear my "Kinks" cd in the car (don't judge me, mkay?) and the song, "Come Dancing", when they'd sing about "Tha Palais" (sounds like "paul-ay", he'd say, "Ha! They dance in the polly?!" and laugh....I still laugh when I type this...haha!

That's exactly what you do. Jenny has a tutorial on YouTube. It was the first quilt I tried (probably not a smart move on my part). I don't really see myself making another one like it although it did turn out ok.

As soon as I saw that title I knew it had to be someone from my neck of the woods - the UK that is. My son has been in the USA for years now and it's made me realise how different our 'common' language can be. Good luck with the quilt.
