    Anyone get a Congrats email from Primitive Quilts&Projects?

    Hi all -
    Got a congratulations email that says:
    "You're a runner-up winner of our International Quilting Weekend Giveaway! Click the link below to sign up for our newsletter and CLAIM your prize! " And the "prize" is 2 E-BOOKS featuring our favorite Spring and Bunny patterns—8 patterns in all!

    All I have to do is sign up for their newsletter - THEN I can claim my "prize." Problem is I never entered anything at their site. I did make an entry through the Bernina site ... so the various sponsors get to share your email addy.

    Just wondering if anyone else here got that email.

    I think I would be very suspicious of that.It may be someone fishing for more private info.

        I've gotten one in the past. Figured someone else sold email info and I ignored it.

          Yes come to think of it and I did get two ebooks.
          Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

            I got the same email. I haven't signed up for the ebooks, though. Not sure if I will. I thought it had something to do with the promotion that the Quilt Show was running a little while ago. I've been getting a lot of emails from them.

              I got one, reported it as spam! DELETE!!

                Yes, I did. And I am usually careful about what I even read. If I think it's spam I delete. But the primitive quilts must have weakened my natural defenses. And then a spring and bunny PRIMITIVE pattern was so bizarre that I clicked further. For some reason I don't think bunny is a primitive word or concept. Rabbit, maybe. I was on my iPad so not too worried about viruses. I never saw those patterns, so at some point I stopped. I figured some vendor sold my email.

                  Please ignore this type of phishing email. I've had two offers of a £500 gift from Marks and Spencer and that was just two of the many annoying phishing emails I receive. Very tempting but I ignore them all. They love it if you respond and who knows where it may lead
