    finger grips for FMQ?

I was recently in my LAQS and was asking about grip for my finger tips. She showed me some silicone thimbles that would work, but all she had left were smalls, and I don't FMQ with my pinkie fingers. I did come across this today perusing the internet and though this is exactly what I need to FMQ. Extra finger tips for my finger grips.

        Cute!

If you are serious about using something to help with gripping while free motion quilting, Ann Petersen talks about using that cheap shelf liner like you can buy at the dollar store. Just cut two palm size squares and they work great for letting you grip the quilt top but not restrict what you can do with your hands. I always hated having to take my machine gloves off in order to rethread the machine or cut something. Plus they were hot.

I agree JCY. I finally went on Amazon and bought the Messingers and the fons and Porter. I like them both. If you look, Amazon has them as an add on item and you can get them dirt cheap when you buy something else.

Ahhh! That pic creeps me out a bit. I once stopped seeing an endocrinologist because he had tiny hands, and always insisted on shaking mine when he entered the exam room. I'm sure that he's a lovely man, but he made me feel like an Amazon woman.

I use the Fons and Porter gloves when I am quilting heavily and hand washing and fabric handling dries my skin out.
