Make the Sparkle Quilt with Jenny Doan! New Tutorial!
sigpic
God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.Tags: None

I like this a lot. It looks very cheery. I love all the white space for showing off some mad quilting skills.Courage is being scared to death, and saddling up anyway. ~John Wayne

I like this quilt, including the white backing. I particularly like the effect of the sashing being on the top and then the bottom of alternate blocks. I would like to try that technique even if I don't use it for this particular quilt. If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. I really like this and think it would look great with a colored background too. And if your like me and bothered by all the corners not matching you could use yardage or get an extra charm pack or even easier use a layer cake then you will get your four petals all the same. I think I will down size this and make a baby quilt!Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.

It looks like it's the Quatrefoil without the four patches. I often see quilts with this way of off-setting the blocks. I was glad Jenny did a video with type of layout. Seeing it laid out made it so clear as to how it's done. I, too, am not sure I care for all that white space. If I was a longarm quilter and able to show off lots of fun quilting I would love it, but that's not the case with me. I have great admiration for those who do this type of quilting but I don't see me ever managing to produce quilts with that much detail.Goodbye Europe! Hello California! Home sweet home.
