Check this machine out pic heavy

DH and I belong to a non profit. I found this on our shelf this am, as a donation. I had asked that we not be given any more sewing machines to check out, because we can't lift them up the steps into the house. We found a way to lift this machine in. If anyone can tell me anything about this machine, I'd appreciate it. The model number is not listed on the Singer web site. Eventually, it will probably go to the Craigs List guy for resale, when he comes back from Minn. Sorry some of these pics wouldn't rotate. thanks Kathy.

If you can provide me with the serial number I'll help you identify it and date it.

On a little gold band at the far right side of the base is this # AL 486286. Underneath is this Simanco 125255. Thanks Kathy

According to the serial #, it appears it is a model 15 and was made July 10, 1953. I tried to get google to show me a model 15, but nothing shows up when I do that, so who knows if this info is correct.....oh, I know who will know!!! Sandy!

Great, because the Singer site I went to any doesn't have serial # that have 486 in them. Sandy did say she'd help. Thanks Kathy

I also say it is a 15. The 15's have the tension knob on the end of the machine instead of the front

The manual is for a 15. (15-51 version if I read well on the pics). It has a lot of attachments and the potted motor and wiring seem ok at first sight, but who can tell from a pic?

Wow. Glad others have been able help identifying the machine. I was surprised to see the buttonhole maker. I used to have one of those for my Singer Touch and Sew in the early 70s.

That looks like a real prize and it has so many attachments still with it.

Looks mostly sorta kinda like the model 15 I use. It does a lovely stitch. Mine was made in 1951 (I think) and came with a nice cabinet with a built in foot pedal. No chasing that bugger around for me.
