  • Washing fabric

I've gone through past posts didn't really see what I was looking for.... I got a tote or two of fabric from my church sale mostly a yard or more and I want to wash all of it. What type of detergent do you recommend using. Please help.

I finally got moved into new house and have the week off and want to get my craft room together...

      Re: Washing fabric

I use baby detergent - usually less chemicals, and I love the baby smell (no babies in our family right now)...

        Re: Washing fabric

I pre-wash all my fabric in a product called Synthrapol. It helps to set the color so reduces the chance of bleeding. I have purchased it at some quilt stores and online. I also serge the raw edges to keep it from fraying and tangling together.

            Re: Washing fabric

I'd use regular Landry detergent..... I don't was new fabric, but I do wash completed quilts, and I just use whatever I have...
