Re: Thought this was so cute

We need to replace that "like" button with a "LOVE" button. That is too stinkin' cute! I definitely need to make one of those for my mom, she would love it! At this rate I will never live long enough to make all of the projects on my bucket list, even if I live to be 200! lol

Dee, my grandmother came from the Burin area down in Lawn. Are you anywhere near there?

I remember her talking about the tsaunami of 1929. They were fortunate that no one died during it but had been warned to head for the hills.

Small world! I'm not from there nor do I live there, but I used to know a girl from there. She loved playing soccer and was pretty awesome at it too! I grew up on the southwest coast of the province (near Port-aux-Basques) but now live just outside of the capital city, St. John's, on the Avalon peninsula. I've actually never heard about that tsunami, but maybe it didn't hit the southwest coast. It would have happened when my grandparents were all very young, so maybe it's just that I'm from the wrong generation lol

I saw someone with some of these up for sale on a facebook group. Didn't look like she put the stabilizer in them. Hummmmm...didn't look so good without it. :-)

My pattern arrived today. It's not so difficult. You need some stiff interfacing/foam/Peltex to hold the shape well. I think I'll make it when I get to my daughter's home this Christmas.

If anyone figures it out, please share. I've tried to find the pattern and can't find it anywhere, all sold out. 😞

I ordered it too Carol. They had to go back to the printers so I would guess this is the Pattern of the Year.

Re: Thought this was so cute

I checked the first time I saw it a few weeks ago and the pattern was already sold out. Did find this as far as the fabric requirements and yes, you need fusible foam. Saw a photo of it hanging on a door with a bow to one side. It is beautiful. Couldn't figure out how to post a pic of it. Yes, I'm technically challenged that way...

                      Fabric Requirements:
                      • Back: 5/8 yd.( shown in green)
                      • Front 5/8 yd. (shown in red)
                      • Applique (shown in white) can be a mix of fabrics
                      • ¾ yd. Steam a Seam (18” wide)
                      • Bosal 4955 in-R-Form Single Sided Fusible Foam, ½ yd. package (makes 2 wreaths)
                      • Optional: Hot Fix Crystals, buttons or beads for decorating
                      Gerri

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

Well I think I'll have to spring for the pattern. I played around with this and I'm not happy with the results.

I only used some cheap fabric to try it out and I can use this for myself since I have a large candle and candle base that will cover the center but definitely not good enough for a gift. I goofed and started with an 8 1/2 inch square and should have used the suggested 8" square above (I misread that). I used 11 doubled squares with stabilizer. I just could not get that circle right even adjusting by wrapping them more like a cone than just putting the two opposite ends together. Anyway this is what happened.
